Quality takes time. As part of the final release planning for TRANSCONNECT.local 5.0, we have decided to make an update and postpone the delivery of three connectors in the first release version:
-
HTTP Connector (producer/consumer)
-
SFTP Connector
-
SMB Connector (incl. SMB 3.0)
We know that many of our customers have been looking forward to these features. That’s exactly why we want to explain openly why we made this decision – and why it ultimately benefits you.
Why we’re taking a deliberate pause with the TRANSCONNECT.local 5.0 release
At TRANSCONNECT, our goal is never to release new features as quickly as possible.
It’s to ensure that your integrations remain stable, secure, and future-proof with every release.
During testing, we found that the new connector approach brings tremendous potential – but also added complexity. Especially in areas like security and encryption, we’re all facing new challenges. Before making compromises, we want to make sure that everything meets the highest possible standards, including for modern, container-based environments.
For this reason, we are announcing this update to the TRANSCONNECT.local 5.0 release.
It’s not the easiest decision – but it ensures that you can continue to use TRANSCONNECT.local without risk and with full compatibility.
What this means for you:
-
Your existing adapters will remain fully functional.
-
You don’t need to change or migrate anything.
-
We will inform you as soon as the new connectors are ready for production use.
More freedom for your integration: The Connector SDK goes Open Source
While we implement the updates to the TRANSCONNECT.local 5.0 release and continue development on the new connectors, we’re also opening up the TRANSCONNECT.local Connector SDK.
This means you’ll soon be able to develop, extend, or contribute your own connectors – without limitations from release cycles or vendor dependencies.
Your benefits:
-
Full transparency in interface development
-
Long-term usability independent of product releases
-
Community expertise for even higher quality
-
More freedom for your individual integration scenarios
