Coming this August
TRANSCONNECT 4.3 is just around the corner – and it brings exactly what many have been asking for: more clarity, less clutter, and new ways to work with the system.
This release isn’t about flashy new features, but about smart enhancements that make working with TRANSCONNECT easier and more future-proof.
Release TRANSCONNECT 4.3: That's new
Keep an eye on your licenses
The TRANSCONNECT Manager now gives you a much clearer view of which licenses are active and when they expire. This means more transparency – and fewer unpleasant surprises.
Better support for custom extensions
Many organizations use self-developed components within TRANSCONNECT. To make upgrading to new versions easier, the migration documentation has been improved. You’ll find all the details in the manual.
Memory monitoring included
Information on used disk space and database storage is now available directly in the dashboard.
What’s going and why that’s a good thing
With the new 4.3 release, TRANSCONNECT is parting ways with a few components that are outdated or no longer meet today’s security standards.
Deprecated (but still available – for now):
PLC Adapter
SNMP Adapter
These adapters can still be used, but they won’t receive any further development.
Completely removed:
The Developer Studio
Sample code for scheduled tasks
An outdated OSCI adapter
Also new: the TRANSCONNECT Manager will no longer be updated automatically. Instead, it will be provided as a downloadable archive.
What does it mean when a function is deprecated, phased out, or removed?
When a function is marked as deprecated in TRANSCONNECT 4.3 (or future versions), it means the function is still available but no longer actively developed – and may be removed in a future release. In such cases, we usually recommend an alternative method. The goal is to give developers early notice so they can adapt their systems in time.
If a function is removed, it’s permanently deleted from the codebase and no longer available.
There are several reasons for such changes: technical improvements, performance and security enhancements, or a cleaner and more consistent API structure.
What this means for you – and how to handle it – you can read here: https://community.transconnect-online.de/thema/5474/
What now?
No worries – if you're affected, you’ve still got time. The release won't roll out until July.
But: now’s a great time to prepare, check the relevant areas, and plan any necessary changes.
As always, you’ll find all the details, technical background, and recommendations in our community:
